Encouragement through tribulation

When I think of encouragement through ‘tribulation’ it leads me to Revelation, the last book in your Bible. It is filled with vivid descriptions of ‘tribulation’ and what is interesting to me is how close Jesus is to all of it. He knows what is happening.

Revelation 22:13 (NASB95)

13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

This is the last statement of Jesus in the book of Revelation. ‘Alpha’ is the first letter in the Greek alphabet, ‘Omega’ is the last letter. Jesus is the ‘first’ and he is the ‘last’ person, living before anything was created and will be consummating all of it at the end. Also, he is sovereign over all things in between.

The theme is reinforced by the same statement at the beginning of the book, Revelation 1:8. Through the trials and tribulations the Bible speaks the fact of Jesus being close to us through it all. A strong message which is applicable today, and to all our days in recovery.

As Christians we can depend on our conquering King. We can depend on the fact that He has walked the difficult path of ‘tribulation’ that we are immersed in right now. He knows what we are going through because He is close to it and sovereign over all of it. WE know because it says so in the Bible.

We will continue to declare Jesus as our Lord and conquering King in this ministry. We invite you to connect or reconnect with us in 2021 so you can hear this message from our community.
