Triumph: A Testimony Series

Recovery ministry holds testimony in a very sacred central role. Living a life in recovery is challenging; living life as a Christian is challenging. Doing one or both of these will present a need for encouragement, which is the role testimony takes in our ministry. Hearing about other people’s victories and challenges presents a very real, and powerful, time of identification that brings hope.

February is a big month for testimony here at HHBC. Triumph, a testimony series, is scheduled for February 28. We hope you can come witness, serve with us, and enjoy the great testimony of Mike and Tiphanie Mathis. The power of testimony began in the age of the martyrs and is central to our Revelation study.

Revelation 12:10–12 (CSB)

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say, The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have now come, because the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been thrown down. 11 They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; for they did not love their lives to the point of death. 12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you with great fury, because he knows his time is short.

v. 10 affirms the power of God to defeat the “accuser” (Satan).

v. 11 through faith in God, and by testimony (telling others about what God has done), the martyrs conquered the accuser (Satan).

v. 12 rejoice in your relationship with God, and know life apart from a relationship with God will be one of futility.

Verse 11 is the central verse in the book of Revelation. Literally there are an equal number of verses on each side of verse 11. The role of testimony about God and his work in our lives is central to our health and success. Don’t miss the chance to share your testimony!

Come join us on February 28!
